Selva Negra, established in 1975 in the heart of the Matagalpa mountains, represents a unique place. Nestled in a region steeped in coffee culture, it is close to magnificent hills draped in preserved tropical forest. The descendants of 19th-century German colonists own this estate. The German influence is still evident in the architecture of the rooms and restaurant, embellished with numerous historical relics such as period photographs, newspaper articles, tools, and other artifacts testifying to the colonists' evolution towards coffee production.
